I remember the excitement that I felt during our first ultrasound when we found out we were having twins. I had a feeling we were having twins but the confirmation made it sweeter. After the initial excitement died down, the next thought was, we’re going to need 2 of everything! Double the diapers, double the wipes, a double stroller, and more. Family and friends blessed us with so much of what we used for the twins during our baby shower and I have a short list of some of my favorites.
If you’re a mom expecting twins or just a mom looking for product recommendations that are durable and easy to use, which is a must when having to do everything twice! I hope that these recommendations make your life with twins a little bit easier.
Feeding Essentials
Why I Love It:
As a mom of preemies, our twins needed formula to help them gain weight when they came home. But the cow’s milk formula was too harsh on their stomachs so we did some research. Turns out, goat’s milk is the closest in similarity to human milk so we switched them. And we were glad we did! They finally stopped having tummy aches and were able to sleep well without additional gas and spitting up. These were the two brands that we used during their first year and we continue to use their toddler formula today!

- Goat’s milk formula isn’t as plentiful as cow’s milk formula, so it is more expensive to purchase, especially for 2 babies. But it’s worth it in the long run for their health and your eardrums!
Why I Love It:
Washing bottles is like a part-time job, full-time for 2! This sterilizer and dryer gave us peace of mind. As preemies, we needed to be extra careful about keeping them safe and sterilizing what we gave them as their immune systems were developing. The combination sterilizer and dryer made it easier to accomplish that goal while saving time. We would wash the bottles out by hand with a bottle brush, then put all the parts in the All-in-One for sterilization and drying. We could walk away knowing the bottles would be ready in about an hour for the next round of feeding!

What to Keep in Mind:
- You’ll need to make room on your counter for this product but it takes up minimal space.
Pro Tip: Periodically clean the heating plate so that build-up doesn’t occur.
Why I Love It:
With twins, you’ll need more than one space to warm up those bottles and this does the trick. The Grownsy takes milk from cold to drinking temperature in just a few minutes, which is key, especially in the middle of the night. A hungry baby waits for no one!

Why I Love It:
Our preemies spent a significant amount of time in the NICU before coming home. There is an array of sounds that they get used to while they are there, so coming home to silence can be an adjustment. Using the Hatch was a lifesaver for making them feel comfortable with soothing consistent sounds. When they were older, the changing lights were fun to look at until they fell asleep. I used the red light to attend to them more easily during the night.

Why I Love It:
These swings were an incredible gift that we received just in the nick of time. Our twins loved them and they were calming and soothing when mom had her hands full! We had them set up side by side and fit perfectly in our space.

What to Keep in Mind:
- The swings have 5-point harnesses in them, but as babies start to be able to crawl they may try to turn over and shimmy their way out of there. That may be an indication that they are too old to continue using the swings.

These were our main seats of choice before we received the swings. We also used these for feeding the twins during the daytime. Feeding twins at the same time is no small feat. After feeding they remained sitting up while they digested their milk to reduce spitting up. It also helped when I needed to hold one twin so I could bounce the other with my foot.

What to Keep in Mind:
- It may be tempting to put them in it without fastening the harness. You might be able to get away with that while they’re immobile, but as soon as they can roll over, they just might roll onto the floor.
Mobility & On-the-Go Essentials
Why I Love It:
After weeks of searching for the perfect twin stroller, we landed on the Graco DuoGlider Double Stroller. This stroller has been amazing for our twins. It is easy to maneuver and fits in the trunk of my mid-size sedan. The undercarriage also has space for those low-item runs to the grocery store and the diaper bag clicks easily around the handle.

What to Keep in Mind:
- Make sure the seats are up and the front canopy is down before attempting to close the stroller
Pro Tip: Remove your diaper bag or anything heavy from the back before you remove the front car seat or else the stroller will tip backward from the weight.
Why I Love It:
Keeping track of 2 mobile babies can be a handful. This playpen allowed them enough room to play and explore while keeping them safe. It gave us peace of mind that they weren’t getting into anything dangerous while doing housework, or going to the bathroom.

What to Keep in Mind:
- On the good chance that your twins spit up while in the playpen, the fabric washes easily with a rag, soap, and water
- Every so often we would wipe down the playpen and leave it to air dry overnight
Diapering & Hygiene Essentials
Why I Love It:
There are 2 main things I love about the Honest wipes. One, they are great on sensitive skin. One of our twins had eczema as a newborn and after trying various wipes, Honest was the best candidate. The wipes are also thicker and have more of a grip than some of the others that we tried, and that made diaper changes easier. Fewer wipes needed to be used which is key for double the diaper changes.

- These wipes are on the pricier end, but in my opinion, it is worth it, especially if you have a baby with sensitive skin
Why I Love It:
After trying several different brands of diapers we found the one ;). These diapers are durable and so soft! Many of the other brands were very stiff and didn’t hold as much. I’ve found that with the Millie Moon Diapers, we’ve had fewer blowouts and our twins seemed the most comfortable in these. Honestly, we wish that we’d discovered this brand sooner.

What to Keep in Mind:
- The only thing I would change about the Millie Moon Diapers is the elasticity of the waistband. It isn’t as stretchy as other brands, but if your baby is in the right size it shouldn’t be an issue.

This diaper pail was a lifesaver during our first year with twins. With all the diaper changes with twins, the Diaper Genie was easy to use and kept the smells non-existent. The foot pedal made it easy to dispose of the many diapers without touching the trash.

Teething & Developmental Must-Have
Why I Love It:
This teething toy was one of my favorite discoveries. It is like having a teething toy and a pacifier in one. I loved having teethers but they would constantly be getting dropped to the ground and would need to be washed off. This teething toy eliminated the majority of that issue and was fun for the twins to use.

What to Keep in Mind:
- Once your twins are a little bit older this could still go flying, but there are several months when they will love it, and so will you.
